Research has proved that a root cause of failures in the execution is simply that it’s not taken seriously enough. More often than not, there is a lack of clarity on what has to be executed, starting the strategy itself.
What kind of leadership is required in successful project management?
We believe that Managers who can not lead are not useful, and leaders who cannot manage probably don’t offer much leadership. Strong execution leaders/managers are likeable persons; they are boringly systematic and disciplined, as a watchmaker: Yet they take people a long, long way, as visionaries do. They are handicraft masters.
The secret is that doing a job well drives them. They are not focused towards management by spreadsheets and statistics, because they understand that the thirst for tools to deliver projects to time, cost and scope has often failed to deliver the right results.
At RiskWave, experience delivering projects has proved us that “the science of project management” is not sufficient in itself. Without realizing “the art of project management”, the science is largely meaningless because ultimately it is people that deliver projects, not software tools and integrated processes.
We have developed core principles that guide our project management delivery approach.
